“When Ian came back from it last time,” Thygurn said, “he described it as being nowhere. “But where do they go when that happens?” Roland asked, growing worried. “Evidently, it is not only affecting Ian, but I’d guess it can affect any of us at any time, without warning.” “It’s just like what happened to Ian, the lingering effect of that powerful timestop spell that was used to get us past the elder brain,” Gideon mumbled after a moment. “What in all the hells?” exclaimed Roland. ![]() Suddenly, just as Ian had done soon after they had returned from the Underdark, Maur appeared frozen in place and time and quickly faded from existence. And if that happens,” Thygrun pondered the possibilities, “It could be bad for all of us.” If my protections fail, the cold will be so bitter I may not be able to meditate to gain others. “That’s right, Gideon,” Thygurn said, “But not the rest of us. Gideon held up his hand, his ring of warmth glowing brightly as it’s magics fended off the dreadful chill of this place. “Without Thygurn’s magics, we would all be freezing to death by now.” “None of you felt the cold as Maur and I did,” Roland mentioned. If the spells expire, I will only be able to cast them upon all of us once more before needed to rest.” “The protections I cast upon all of us to protect against the cold will only last a short while longer. The air here was a soul-numbing cold, as evident from their breath that hung in the air as each of them breathed. The rest of the party wanted nothing to do with the horn, and they all kept their distance from it.Īs they turned their attention to the lone stone door that Ward had mentioned all of his team had ran through in their wild panic, Thygurn mentioned that they would need to be quick in this endeavor. He also noticed several runes or images carved along it’s length that he wasn’t familiar with. ![]() Kraloth, who rarely spoke, commented on how it was such a large horn (easily weighing over a hundred pounds) and wondered what type of creature or creatures it was meant for. They took time to make formal introductions to the two gith (Fazod and Kraloth), who had some interest in the large iron horn sitting atop the table in the center of the room. Finally, they told him to retreat back into his magical shelter and wait for them to return. The party took a few moments longer to converse with Ward the Explorer.
